Clone

The clone preset creates an exact replica of the volume, which can be changed without impacting the original volume. After the copy completes, the mapping that was created by the preset is automatically deleted.

You can use the clone preset in application test environments, where multiple copies of production system data are being used for various purposes, such as testing and quality assurance. In this situation, you can create a clone of the production data on the target volume. You can then create multiple versions of the data as needed without impacting the performance of I/Os to the production volume.
