Management IP addresses

Management IP addresses can be defined for the system. The system supports one to four IP addresses. You can assign these addresses to two Ethernet ports and their backup ports. Multiple ports and IP addresses provide redundancy for the system in the event of connection interruptions.

At any point-in-time, the system has an active management interface. Ethernet Port 1 must always be configured and the use of Port 2 is optional. Configuring both ports provides redundancy for the Ethernet connections. If you configured both ports and you cannot connect through one IP address, attempt to access the system through the alternative IP address. Both IPv4 and IPv6 address formats are supported. Ethernet ports can have either IPv4 addresses or IPv6 addresses, or both.

If you change the management IP address, the browser session stops the management GUI that uses the old IP address. You must use the new IP address to reconnect to the management GUI. When you reconnect, accept the new site certificate.
