Selecting an I/O group

Select an I/O group to which you want to move the selected volumes. The selected I/O group becomes the new caching I/O group for the volume. The caching I/O group is the I/O group that performs the cache function for a volume. Select the preferred node in that I/O group that the host uses to access volumes.

The system can accept I/O requests for a volume on any node in any I/O group provided that the I/O group is part of the volume access set. The volume access set is a list of I/O groups that allows host access to a volume. Always include the caching I/O group in the set. The system forwards requests from the receiving node to a node in the caching I/O group, usually the preferred node, if available. When a volume is moved to another I/O group, both the old and new I/O groups are members of the volume access set for that selected volume. After hosts detect the new paths, hosts can direct requests to either I/O group regardless of which I/O group is the caching I/O group for the volume.
