Map storage

Before you migrate storage, record the hosts and their WWPNs or IQNs for each volume that is being migrated, and the SCSI LUN when mapped to this system. To use Fibre Channel connections, the system must have installed the optional Fibre Channel host interface adapter.

Record the information in Table 1.
Table 1. Example table.
Volume name or ID Hosts accessing this LUN Host WWPNs or IQNs SCSI LUN when mapped
1 DB2 logs DB2server 12:... 0
2 DB2 data DB2server 12:... 1
3 file system FS1 12:... 2
If partitioned, unmap volumes that are being migrated, and map them to the created host.
The act of mapping a volume to a host makes the volume accessible to the WWPNs or IQNs that are configured in the host object. When you map a volume to a host, you can optionally specify a SCSI ID for the volume. This ID controls the sequence in which the volumes are presented to the host. Check the host software requirements for SCSI IDs because some require a contiguous set. The lowest available SCSI ID is automatically assigned if none is specified.
